Student Presentation I (25 points)
Students are to form two-person teams that will take one of the seminar’s topics (Roman Numerals IV thru XII), and provide an introductory presentation and develop a series of questions to stimulate discussion on the assigned evening of the topic. Students should reference the required or recommended readings and can also bring in any other resources they wish.
Student Paper II (75 points)
Students are to complete a 4000-5000 review of a contemporary issue in higher education on which they would possibly like to conduct serious research or investigation. This review should consist of the following:
- An introduction of the issue
- Why is it of interest to you?
- Why is it important in 2015?
- What are the sides of the issue?
- How do you see this issue developing/evolving over the next five years.
Ten minute oral presentations will be scheduled for the sessions of 12/1 and 12/8. Papers will be due on the assigned evening of the presentation. Please prepare a one-page abstract for distribution to all participants in this seminar. Powerpoints are discouraged.
